Monday Motivation!

Hey Mamas!

Welcome to 2022! Wow, I can’t believe it’s been a week already.

What is body positivity?

It is the idea that you can LOVE your body, appreciating the hard work it does to help you experience life in this world. After all, if you didn’t have your body, well then you wouldn’t be here, would you? It’s worth mentioning that not everyone identifies with body positivity, and so they might aim for self-acceptance and body-neutrality, or simply being “Okay enough” in their body, choosing no longer to fight against what they don’t like about it.

Did you know that it is totally possible and OKAY to both:

Love your body + Want to change some things about it?

In fact, self-love can be way more motivating to help you improve your health than any guilt, shame, or feelings of self-loathing.

For some people, it can be REALLY hard to get to self-love, and that’s okay too. We are all on a journey, and some people are at a different point in their journey. If that’s you, I see you and you are acceptable, my friend. If you want to feel less self-loathing and more self-love for yourself and your body, it can help to talk through things with a therapist or a trusted friend. And, as a little encouragement to you, you can try practicing self-appreciation statements. Here are a few to get you started.

I am worthy of love.

I am worthy of good.

I deserve respect.

I give myself respect.

I appreciate the life this body has given me.

My body is my friend.

My body brings me into each experience of life.

I take care of my body.

I protect my body.

I nourish my body.

I truly hope these affirmations help you to kick-start your journey to self-acceptance, and maybe even body positivity. Namaste, my friends.
